not being taken seriously.

does that really matter?

is it actually just an opportunity to practice not caring what people think of me?

am I not taking myself seriously?

are others not taking themselves seriously?

is this how we miss out on our own potential?

by not taking our power and capabilities seriously?

is that a form of self defense?

if you don't take yourself seriously at anything then maybe there is little opportunity for failure,

less chance for ridicule, and fewer mistakes to learn from.

a smoother ride down the road if we just follow instructions. go with the flow.

but does that mean our destination is predetermined?

are we afraid to take ourselves seriously, afraid of getting to know and show our true self

because then the destination is unknown?

because it's embarrassing to want something different than our models of 'success'?

are we afraid to take ourselves seriously because it means we could fail, could let ourselves down?

does taking ourselves seriously actually just mean we've decided to accept ourselves, as is, right now?

giving us the ability to explore our own mind, desires, taste, goals.

and by choosing to accept ourselves and embarking on the journey of self discovery

there are no failures, just lessons and experiences,

bringing depth and interest to our time here.

does taking ourselves seriously really just take some courage, self love, and presence?

the ability to be in the moment, on our own path, ending unplanned.

does that make it easier to accept other people too?

understanding that they are on their own path and not competing with us.

so why don't we take ourselves seriously?
